Whether you want to listen to music or perform it, St. John’s has something for you. For listeners, our talented organist performs preludes and postludes, as well as the hymns and service music on organ and piano. And our musically inclined members share their talents as soloists and in ensembles for special services.
Our Organ
In 2015, St. John’s was fortunate to receive the gift of a wonderful two-manual pipe organ that was donated by a family in Morgan Hill who appreciated the work and music ministry of St. John’s and its commitment in leading Christian worship. The inspiration for the beautiful cherry hardwood organ case came from the Metzler organ at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Medina, WA., where Richard Proulx was Minister of Music during the 1970’s and was a mentor to the builder when he was a student in Seattle. This lovely small instrument, perfect for the size of our sanctuary, has added a significant and meaningful dimension to our music ministry.
Handbells
St. John’s multigenerational bell choir brings together people of all ages and musical abilities to create a unique and beautiful sound. We strive to make our bell choir accessible to everyone, regardless of their musical experience.
